We would need to find something larger than a single diode for a target. Maybe a matrix or reflector(s)?
I've no knowledge of lazers beyond builder's levels, but have got something that would turn into a pic based 'hit' recorder with a little effort. Sound effects?

Reckon we could start with the most basic possible setup and gound attack (but not my car!).

My toys have evolved a little now, so I'll be checking the weather later in the week.

Either that or make the laser beam wider?
I guess the only way is to try...
