Hiya Darren From Rhondda South Wales.
« on: February 07, 2012, 09:04:59 AM »

Hello peeps.
Darren Here from Sunny South wales  :o i wish.
Total Newbie just decided one day after seeing a video on you-tube with i think was a octocopter filming a totally mad Suzuki hill-climb car and thought that would be great fun to take mountain biking and film peeps doing there thing like chase cam.

did a little research and ended up buying all the bits and bobs from HK and building a rcexplorer.se v2.5 tricopter just before xmas. love the ziptie everything on idea, as im on my second bag of 200 zipties  :-X yes to say i crashed allot would be an understatement, but no major part broken decided then to buy a few spares and a few more battery's then the weather changed and i not been able to get out with it for like a month.

in the mean time i found FPV what a world of technology i was getting myself in for, that i had not the faintest idea about, well lets just say a few  £ later best not say amount Fiancee is about  ;) and then i seen base stations and the credit cards had to come out "checks over shoulder "

and this was born.

well as you can imagine i am totally hooked even though im still tweaking the pots on the tri, and now looking to get a beginners plane, looking at the HK Bixler.

Certainly looks like you got all the stuff Darren. Any video's ready to be released yet ? Would be good to see how the Tri flies and how stable it is etc.
How is the reflective light on the ground station monitor ?

as it happens i got a little flight time in the other day, got a few probs one is as stated the light i need something of a hood although the screen is nice and clear, the tri tends to jerk a little on the front left motor, i thought it was the gains on the pots so turned them down but it did not go, and my rear servo is always on the go like glitching. other than that well i got it up for a bit lol
here ya go.

had a few goes before just to make sure all was well and then this was FPV my first ever yay :)
first FPV with tricopter.wmv

note the shaky cam, ps i am total newbie lol.

hi bignose13 i remember will deffo be up for a meat some time soon or when the weather allows  gggrrr

Thanks for the warm welcome peeps.

You still got to learn LOS flying fella

It'll save you when your video goes down in mid flight

i take it that means loss of signal? how can u fly if u cant see?
i thought it was a case of turn off the tx pack up and go home tri/plane gone lol

oh thats another thing i found im using a turnigy 9x v2 set up the failsafe thing after reading it someware set the throttle to 40% hovers at 51% switched off tx nothing stayed the same. looks like it dont actually work gggrrr
