I've had the same Skywalker for FPV for two years now. It's had 6 new wings, 3 new canopies and 2 new fuselages.

The ailerons holes have been precut in the wings... all you need do is buy a couple of servos and some extender cables. I went with 30cm cables... you can leave them cabled up even when you break the plane down for storage & the cables tuck in well enough.

For a start it's mode 1. Do yourself a favour and get a mode2 so you can fly with 1 hand if you need to.

Also seems like a lot of kit that you won't need or use is included.

Surely with such a sophisticated Tx it is possible to change modes.

It's certainly possible, but it requires you to open it up and move the sticks around and do a few other bits to get it to work.

9zap... good tranny but to much at 290 pounds

Plus these are a bugger to program but they are very good

price wise it needs to drop to 200 or better

£290 sound like an awful lot to spend

I picked up an all singing all dancing Futaba ff9 on ebay for £95
even up to £140 they're a bargain

the is one there now with 4 servos

I was more or less in the same situation. Bought a diamond since it looked so easy to fly. Crashed it straight away.
I did two things which saved me some crashes
1 bought a FMA copilot stabilizer and a FY20 stabilizer
2 bought a 50 USD floater
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8359

Installed the copilot on the diamond and the FY20 on the floater and started practicing with the floater first.
Take of with the stabilizer engaged and when up in the air switched if off. If something happened switched it on again.

This safe me a lot of crashes. If you crash the diamond typically there is a lot damage. (motor in front) if you crash the floater the damage is far less.

Take Care
