Calling all Yorkshire FPV'ers!
« on: February 16, 2012, 11:53:50 PM »

So, who is interested in a Yorkshire (Im North) FPV fly in?

Let me know if your interested and we can all aim for setting a weekend when we are graced with warmer weather!... ;D

If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter and, therefore, unsafe.

Tim,

Well, when we get more of an idea of where everyone is roughly located, then I propose we go onto google maps and find a location that is as fair to everyone distance wise as possible. It would also mean that everyone would be flying in a new area. Another option is that we have a mini competition, each person uploading some pictures of there favourite FPV spot - simply the most scenic/interesting wins.

I usually fly in the Dales, Pately Bridge, Grassington and the surrounding areas, but i usually end up driving a couple of hours to find a different good one!!

Suggestions welcome - it would be great to have a few locals meet up, as well as having such a good forum community!

Hey Simon,

I flew over Bolton Abbey last weekend, which is heading out your way, roughly!!

I fly fixed wing, specifically a Radian Pro, but I've got a heli as well! What about you guys?

Always thought Shipley Glenn near Bradford would be a good place to fly.

Hi Guys,
If you are interested we have an organised FPV Meet in Lincolnshire planned for the end of April.
Hopefully get a few members from the forum there and make a good meet. This will be the second such meet. Last year we had lots of interest but on the weekend planned the weather was crap. I can plan most things but weather is not one of them unfortunately.
Would be good to see you "yorkies" coming down to "yellow belly" Lincolnshire.
There is a thread on the forum here under the Events tag.
Cheers

Chris

I'm near Leeds Bradford Airport. I'd love to come and watch.
No group flying for me yet... it could be expensive lol. Oh and my Tri build has only just started!

I have access to an indoor sports hall just North of Doncaster if anyone wants to meet up there for a spot of indoor flying / testing.

I have a DJI F450 Quadcopter and would love to meet up either outdoor or indoors for a group fly, would be a good chance to get some awesome video.

I have a couple of GoPro's plus some spare mounts if anyone wants to pop one on their set up for some great video.

My parents live in Pateley Bridge so when your planning a flight let me know and i will pop up and join you.

I am in Doncaster and do have access to a massive sports field and sports hall if that is any good to you.

Simon,

Have you ever flown around Fountains Abbey? That would be an incredible site to fly around, and I regularly fly over there! Regarding location, It would be an idea to select a location which is orientated towards the 'copters, as us fixed wingers will happily fly anywhere
