VERY up for it! I am based in West Yorkshire, in Halifax, i know phibin and ricky off here are also in Halifax.

Where were you thinking to meet up?

Tim :)

Tim,

Well, when we get more of an idea of where everyone is roughly located, then I propose we go onto google maps and find a location that is as fair to everyone distance wise as possible. It would also mean that everyone would be flying in a new area. Another option is that we have a mini competition, each person uploading some pictures of there favourite FPV spot - simply the most scenic/interesting wins.

I usually fly in the Dales, Pately Bridge, Grassington and the surrounding areas, but i usually end up driving a couple of hours to find a different good one!!

Suggestions welcome - it would be great to have a few locals meet up, as well as having such a good forum community!

Stu.

My parents live in Pateley Bridge so when your planning a flight let me know and i will pop up and join you.

I am in Doncaster and do have access to a massive sports field and sports hall if that is any good to you.

a big field for us all,
with some indoor action if the weather is crap sounds good..

also great for setup/testing  ;D

where abouts is it? doncaster is a bit far  :(
will it be free?

dont know what sort of distances it will be for every one else?
could we do a map thing?

simon.

p.s.

are they the gopro's that whent to the edge of space?  :respekt:

I'm up in Darlington (was born in Otley though so I'm Yorkshire), Coyote in Redcar, and Steve W just west of Grimsby (New Holland I think).

You'd need to be careful around Horcum, not only for the MOD police but also it is an active slope site, so you might risk being shot down on 35MHz.

If its not too far from Middlesbrough, I might come up and stay with the rels :)

Guess Menwith hill is one to avoid then lol

If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter and, therefore, unsafe.

We can have a play at Campsmount Technology College DN69AS - Google map it.

I am a teacher there so can grab time in the sports hall if needs be plus we have a massive field at the rear of the sports hall so can have a good outdoor fly.

IT WILL BE FREE!!!! YIPEEEEEE!!!!

There is nothing about for miles apart from fields and a couple of villages so should not get shot / arrested!!

Also we can stick on GoPros and get some video if you wanna have a play with them.... yes the ones that went to space!! Bring either a laptop / SD memory card to record it on.

Hope that helps..

Get back to me if anyone is interested and i will book us a date in.

Mike - I mentioned Menwith in jest, but let's say we did - so longs we are not on the same plot and keep a sensible distance away i don't see a problem. Model clubs don't have exclusive rights suggesting no other modellers can fly in the area!

ok peeps there are a few suggestions now...

im sure there are alot of great flying sites all over, but we need a suitable site for us all to do some fpv'ing without the risk of being shot down one way or another by clubs or otherwise...

i was thinking the school could be good but we might have issues with wifi from the school?
unless we can turn it off?
the other benefit of the school is it will be easy to get to, have a big field and have an indoor hall should the worst happen with the weather..

but... where are we all???

can we get a map done?
so we can decide where will be best for us all...
