I'd be interested to know where we stand with insurance.  Will BFPVMFA insurance be OK at the flying field?  All BFPVMFA members can provide copies of the insurance certificate (its here in fact: http://www.bfpvmfa.org/downloads/CertifcateOfPublicLiabilityInsurance.pdf) and proof of their membership.

If only BMFA insurance is valid then everyone will need to fly with buddy leads, a practice which the BMFA accident stats show are a major cause of accidents (the buddy lead coming out, being tripped over and pulling both Txs from people's hands, etc).

Funny, did you have to show any insurance when you were flying in France? I know they didn't ask me for any, and i certainly didn't Fly with a buddy box, did you? I know the Frence have their own rules, but where all under EASA control, arnt we?

I think the French attitude is "don't worry about it".  The range of frequencies and powers of both video and control were surely illegal over there.  Even my 35MHz RC radio isn't legal in France and I doubt they got any special permissions.

Off topic: one thing I like about this forum is that you can press "notify" and get an email updating you when a thread is update.  I wish RCG would do that.

I'm hoping to get there too. Would to not only put faces to profiles, but also see how people have their kit arranged and working.

More than welcome Mark, as you can see we are all addicts and find it more than enjoyable helping people get into the hobby and make the best informed decissions to get what will work best for them.

Your goals and expectations are personal and so should be your system choice depending on your wishes, there is no perfect system for everything. Come along and see how many different systems there are and pro` con`s and why they are applied for each purpose :)
